February 25, 1979 ~ May 6, 2022
Born in: Milwaukee, WI
Resided in: Bunker Hill, IN
Aaron Thomas Buckley, 43, of Bunker Hill, IN, passed away in Indianapolis, IN on May 6, 2022 after an unexpected illness. He was born on February 25, 1979 in Milwaukee, WI to Thomas and Edith (Rouse) Buckley. Aaron graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1997.
Aaron was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and a loyal member of the Lot 1 tailgate family at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. His love for the Packers was more than just watching his favorite team. It was getting married at Lambeau Field, it was a comradery with his fellow “diehards”, as well as a way to catch up with old friends. He brought so much to his extended family, known as Lot 1, and they always knew when he was in town that they were going to see that infectious smile and share some stories of tailgates past. Lot 1 will suffer without his presence but he can rest easy knowing he will be honored all season… Every season.
In addition to his love of Wisconsin sports that was passed on to him from his Grandpa Raymond Buckley, Aaron was an avid collector of sports memorabilia; loved animals, especially his dogs: Chico, Kali and Jordy; spending time with his family and friends; golfing; making people laugh with his often inappropriate sense of humor; and nature. He often said “if you wake up and see mountains or water, you can’t be in a bad mood”
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Edith (Rouse) Buckley; maternal Grandparents Robert and Harriet Rouse; and Aunts Mary Rouse and Jean (Rouse) Fox.
Aaron is survived by his wife, Jaclynn (Smith) Buckley; children, Alissa Buckley, Devan Buckley, Logan Smith and Lauren Jackson; Father, Thomas Buckley (Diane Thames); Paternal Grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Buckley; sisters, Cynthia Buckley (Brian Kenny) and Alison Buckley (Tom Boshardy); niece, Maggie Hunter; and nephew/ Godson Colin Boshardy; aunts and uncles, Carol Buckley-Kempka, Kathy (Mike) McCann, Mary (Richard) Horan, John (Kim) Rouse, James (Kim Marie) Rouse, Robert (Kelly) Rouse, Jeffery (Debra) Rouse; many cousins, with special mention of Libby Kempka and Danny Kempka with whom Aaron was especially close; and his best friend/ self-proclaimed brother, AJ (Melissa) Popp.
Aaron’s family would like to extend great gratitude to the staff at University Hospital for the outstanding care that he received especially in his final days.
A celebration of life is being planned and dates will be announced in the near future.
