Barbara Jane Felts, 81, passed peacefully on October 22, 2021 surrounded by family. Barbara was born to Jay and Lola Banter in Van Buren, Indiana on December 30, 1939.
Barbara was a hard worker and loved her job. She began her career as a switchboard operator at Community Hospital and retired as a medical coder in 1997.
She married the love of her life Jerry Felts, on January 12, 1961. They had 2 children, Penny Hall (Marty) of Anderson and Jeffrey Felts (Toni) of Rockwell, TX.
Some called her Aunt Jane, but the names she loved most were Grandma, Mamaw, and Memaw. Barbara was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Calen Cox, J. Blair Felts, Devin Felts, Bailey Erbe, and Kendall Hall: and 5 great-grandchildren Kollin Cox, Roxie Erbe, Rex Erbe, Kale Cox, and River Erbe.
Barbara enjoyed the casino, fishing, the Colts, the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren. Following retirement, she lived in Florida and Texas before returning to Indiana. She will be missed but left her family loving memories and laughs that will live on.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry Felts; and parents listed above.
Her family has chosen cremation with a Celebration of Life planned for a later date.
