Connie L. Gallamore, 67, Anderson, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2023. She was the daughter of Donald L. Gallamore and Norma Jean Gallamore.

Connie’s calling was caring for all animals. She took in stray dogs earlier in her life, but her passion was rescuing cats. Every animal that visited her yard was named and cared for.

She enjoyed reading and fishing and helping her neighbors when she could. Her love of God never faltered.

She is survived by her parents and sister, Susan Gallamore Rihn (Edwin).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Animal Protection League, 44 W 5th St. Anderson, IN 46016.

  2. Susie, Mr. and Mrs. Gallamore,
I have always called you my second family. I remember Connie always being Susie’s little sister, bouncing around full of energy, when I came to visit. I am so happy she was able to take care of animals, especially cats, as I am also an animal lover. She will be missed! Bless Connie in heaven and bless the three of you.
    Love, Viki (Smith) Sigler

  4. I know that Connie hasn’t felt very healthy for a while and I am sure that she is very peacefully resting and caring for all the cats in heaven. I can see her smiling as she does it. Connie came to Kentucky to stay with me for a few years and when she came she brought 7 cats with her. I had 1 cat, so it became a very big cat family. We lost a couple to old age and illness. I thought that was a more manageable number of cats….until we went to a flea market and someone had kittens to give away. Connie fell in love with 1 of them and thought he needed her. When she took me to see them, I fell in love with a different one! Connie very happily said we should take them both! That’s how Andy and Amelia came to the family. I guess 8 cats really was a good family number. Connie loved them and care for them every day. I will miss her, but hold many good memories. Peace be with you Susie, Ed, Don and Jeanie.

  5. Connie cared for cats but she also cared for her mother and father. She brought food and more food. They never went hungry. Even if she didn’t feel well she was there working in the yard or fixing dinner. She was a true servant.

  6. Connie took care of animals but she was so much more….She was a bricklayer, she was a mechanic, she was a paper pusher at Planned Parenthood in Indpls, she was a collector of rocks, she was a Black hankerchief on the left back pocket, she was a hard worker, she was kind hearted, she was stubborn, she volunteered after 9-11 for service for our country, she was a bartender, she was Alot of things and she wore alot of different hats in her life and Im sorry I didnt get to say goodbye dear old friend.

  7. I knew Connie when we both played softball in Anderson, many years ago. I remember her humor, wit and love of animals back then. I saw her again in Indianapolis many years later. We had both moved here without each other knowing. She wore many hats. Always laughing and smiling. May she rest in peace.
