Dale E. VanDeventer
84, of Indianapolis,was born on September 12, 1932, died peacefully on February 7, 2017. He is preceded in death by parents, Scott andAnna VanDeventer.
He was a graduateof the Indiana School for the Deaf, Class of 1952. He was employed at Eli Lilly 37 years,retiring in 1991.
He was a sports fanof football and basketball and was a friend to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his wife, familyand friends.
Dale is survived byhis: wife, Peggy; son, Randy (Amy) and granddaughters, Claire and Hannah, ofWestminster, CO; sisters, Mary Biltz, of Plainfield and Louise Pershing, ofGreencastle.
Funeral service will be 2pm on Friday, February 17, 2017 atLegacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue,with visitation from 1pm until the time of service.
Great memories growing up down the street from the VanDeventers on Drexel Ave. I believe my first Pacers game was with Randy and his dad. Mr. VanDeventer was a pleasant and funny guy and he and his wife put up with a lot while Randy and I played basketball in their living room while they watched TV. To this day they were the first and only house I ever saw that had multiple TVs set up so they could watch more than one channel at a time. I am truly sorry for your loss.
