On September 29th, 2021 Doris L. Campbell reached out to God’s silent angel for peace and comfort.

Born on April 15th, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Mr. & Mrs. Hugh A. and Minnie Locke.  Doris graduated from Ben Davis High School and furthered her education by studying cosmetology and medicine.  She worked for more than thirty years as a beautician and many years working in the nursing profession in the Indianapolis area.  She was an active member of her community and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and telling stories about her younger years.

She was preceded in death by her husband (Lawrence Campbell Sr.) and her five siblings (Hugh A. Locke Jr., Maurice D. Locke, Juanita Evans, and Betty Averette.)

She is survived by her sister Ethel Locke, four children (Lawrence R. Campbell, Jacqueline Campbell, Ernestine Edmonds, and Roselyn Campbell), ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  She departed this earth on September 29, 2021 at the age of 94.
