In Loving Memory of Frank Ball Jr.
FRANK BALL JR. was born September 2, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Frank and Mary Catherine Ball.
Frank or Little Bit as known by some, attended Public School #26 and went on to graduate from Crispus Attics High School in 1953. In his youth he was a member of the American Legion and won trophies as an Amateur Boxer. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon leaving the Army, Frank tried his hand at several jobs until 1966 when he landed a job at Kroger Bakery and Confectionary where he remained until his retirement in 1996.
It was also in 1966 when Frank was visiting a cousin, looked across the street and first saw the love of his life, Florence. They were married in 1968 and went on to have a beautiful family.
Frank dedicated his life to being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was baptized in 1970. He enjoyed sharing Bible truths and his hope for God’s Kingdom with others. Frank was steadfast in his field service duties for many years. He served as the bookkeeper for the Washington Park congregation and was a faithful member until his passing.
Frank was a man of few words; however, when he spoke, you listened. He would speak his mind and tell you the truth. Frank enjoyed his family and loved taking them on road trips. Retirement allowed him to be at home as his wife babysat all his grandchildren along with many extended family members and friends. Frank or Pawpaw loved to go to the Dollar Store to purchase toys for the kids to make them feel special.
Frank was an outdoorsman who enjoyed biking, walking, and gardening. He was a serious Bid Whist and Dad card player and enjoyed playing with family and friends.
Frank departed this life Saturday, April 15th, 2023, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Florence and daughter Sherry as well as brothers, Kenneth and Michael Ball.
Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Monica Barber, Travis Ball, Andrea Robertson, Adria (Don) Campbell; siblings Lamar (Mildred) Ball, JoAnne (Ben) Allen, Gerald (Phyllis) Ball, Larry Ball, Roland Ball, and Milton Ball; grandchildren Makala, Devin, Maddisen, Daria, Shelby, Matthugh, Darcey, Cortney, and Daimani; great grands, Gabryelle, Demond ‘Tre’ III, and DaJuan (on the way) along with a great number of relatives and dear friends.
