Gilda Lea “Dalea” Badami, passed away quietly, surrounded by family, at her home on the morning of February 23, 2023. Dalea dedicated her life to working with youth, in a multitude of capacities. She enjoyed supporting her children in their various activities as well as being a huge football fan. Dalea possessed a very positive outlook on life and gave shinning lights of encouragement to many. Her family will be hosting a celebration of life on Sunday March 5, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Avon Wedding and Event Barn, located at 7424 East County Road 100 North in Avon, Indiana. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the venue. Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis assisted the family with arrangements. Floral tributes may be sent to Avon Wedding and Event Barn on the day of the celebration of life.
May each of you find courage to face tomorrow as you rest in the knowledge that we truly care about each of your needs and that we will be here to walk beside you in your journey of grief.

I don’t even know where to begin except for crying AND celebrating with you. You two were such a big part of our faith journey and our journey to parenting. You were there with us through some of the roughest times and the best of times. I cry remembering those blessed moments. I celebrate because though it you showed us unwavering faith and witty sarcasm and how to love and live in a broken world. I celebrate knowing that pain isn’t forever but faith is. I celebrate knowing Dalea is having the time of her life without pain and is fully healed.

My experience with the AvonMB&G would not have been the same without Dalea and her uber-organized leadership of our beautiful guard. I feel fortunate to have known her and to see the impact she had on so many.
My deepest and sincerest condolences to the entire family. We watched Gilda over the 4 years our son participated in the Avon MB&G. She was so strong and always had a smile to give. What an amazing lady. May she rest easy in our Savior’s arms. May God give the family peace and comfort. You are in our prayers.

Being in the AMBG and Winter Guard would never had been the same without Dalea. She had always put the Colorguard and everyone else before her. She was very kind and genuine. She will be dearly missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
