“Welcome to my world, m effer.”

Those were Joseph Post’s famous words. He was born August 23, 1964 to Shirley Daniels and Robert Post. He passed away at home, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and wife, on February 23, 2023.

He was affectionately known to all that knew him as the life of the party. He loved to have dance parties. He is known to have a favorite dance partner, his beer belly. You could catch him at any given moment holding a bud lite can. He thrived on spending time with family and making memories with his grandbabies Jojo Post, Serenity Post, Natalie Leach, Alex Post, Jersey Monroe, Hannah Richards, Thomas Bunch, Shelby Morales, Madi Morales, and AJ Morales.

He taught his kids, Heather Richards, Joseph (Christina) Post, Chelsey (Brian) Monroe, Mason Post, and Travis Post, to never hold grudges, express your feelings, always show gratitude, be kind to everyone because you never know what someone is going through, and to leave the judgement to God. He is known to tell them that a Post is “never scared, fears none, no regrets, and forever young.”

He was a loving brother to his surviving siblings Janie (Tim) Long, Johnny (Mary) Post, Jimmy (Mary) Post, Joy Skerrit, Belle (Blake) Black, David (Marylen) Daniels, Janet (Michael) Creamer, Lola (Jim) Marcum, and Debbie Daniels.

He is also survived by his wife, Robin Post. He has called her “Pooh Bear” since meeting her in 1985. He has always been a romantic. He proposed to her on Easter 1986 with her ring in a chocolate bunny. They wed just 3 months later on June 28, 1986. Despite him changing the mens tux colors the day of the wedding and not telling her, she lived an eventful life with him for the next 37 years, fulfilling their marriage vows of “till death do us part.”

With his marriage to Pooh Bear, he gained a loving family and mother in law, Juanita See. She loved and embraced him and every quirk he had.

He is preceeded in death by his parents, Shirley, Robert, the father that stepped up, David Daniels, and brother Randy Daniels.

Memorial services are being set up by the family and will be held at Hummel Park in Plainfield, IN.

  2. When I met Joe for the first time he was working with my youngest son remodeling a house around 10th st. We had become friends as I would run into him while seeing my son. Joe being a very kind person and very blunt and to the point about everything. We became the best of friends. Joe had a very kind heart. It is no wonder why he was so loved.
