LaVeda Kay Fuson, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 15, 2018. She was born in Tipton, IN on April 27, 1939 to the late James and Edith (Burris) Horton. LaVeda graduated from Alexandria High School. She worked at Merchants Bank for 13 years, retiring in 1992. LaVeda was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, and very active in the Republican Party in Hendricks County.
LaVeda, as a mom, liked to collect persimmons, apples, and sticks out of her yard with her sons, and make them tollhouse chocolate chip cookies. Later in life, she enjoyed reading and sun bathing by the pool. LaVeda always loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Matt (Jeanette) Fuson and Mark Fuson; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Trinity, Marcus, and Olivia Fuson; and siblings, Mike Horton and Jean Basey. LaVeda is preceded in death her husband, Roger Fuson; along with her parents, mentioned above.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton North Public Library, 209 W. Brinton Street, Cicero, IN 46034 in LaVeda’s memory.
There will be a memorial service at 7pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a gathering starting at 6pm until the start of the service.
