September 4, 1928 ~ May 26, 2018
Leo B. Murphy, born Sept. 4, 1928 went to our heavenly Father on May 26, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth and his children, Suzanne (deceased), Patrick, Michael (Sally), Lisa (Maxie), Robert (Melanie), Maureen (Timothy), Sheila (Richard), his 20 Grandchildren, his 17 Great-Grandchildren and his brother, Francis.
Viewing arrangements will be Friday, June 1st, 4pm – 8pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, 46229. Recital of the rosary will take place at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 2nd at 1pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, 46226. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Leo Murphy has served the Church and the Community by committing to place the Nativity Scene outside of St. Lawrence church during the Christmas Holidays for over 35 years. He has lovingly repaired the Manger when it was old and worn out, even completely constructing a new Manger Barn structure years ago. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the St. Lawrence Nativity Scene Fund so that new figurines could be purchased and his memory continue to live on.
He like to make things out of wood. He was a good husband father grandfather and great grandfather also a great friend
Family reunions will never be the same. RIP Uncle LEO… You will be truly missed.
I am so sorry to hear of the death of Leo. The passing away of a loved one is always with much sorrow. May we have faith and confidence in the Bible’s promise of a time when pain, sickness and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:3, 4). My condolences are with the family at this difficult time.
