Resided in: Anderson, IN

Mark A. Chandler, 64, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 10, 2023.

Mark was born on December 15, 1958, in Anderson, Indiana, to Betty Pearl (Parrish) and Wiley Joe Chandler.

He attended Highland High School, before signing up for the Army National Guard. After spending 2 years in the Guard, Mark enlisted for active duty in the Army from 1979-1982. He was proud to serve his country and excited to tell people about him being a paratrooper in the Army.

Mark was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. One of which would include racing.  He loved to drive in Nas-cart races out at Anderson and Lapel Speedways. After his racing career, Mark still enjoyed going to the races, whether it was at big tracks like Eldora or here local watching his grandson, Jordan, carry on the tradition.  Additional passions were riding his motorcycles and visiting Graceland and all the museums there (bucket list).

Mark is survived by his wife, Joan Chandler (Willoughby); his only child, Nicole (Travis) Milburn; stepson Brian Grunden; his grandchildren, Faryn Sowers, Jordan Tharp, and Evangeline Vives; his only great-grandchild, Serenity Moss; his brother, Michael (Setsuko) Chandler; his sister, Mickey Tinch (Chandler); and several nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as several special people near and dear to him.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother and father, Betty Pearl and Wiley Joe Chandler; sister, Mindy Rhoda (Chandler); brother-in-law, Bobby Tinch; niece, Julie Kinnett (Chandler); nephew-in-law Jeff Walker; and niece, Amanda Jo Hogue.
