Mark Stanley Carter was born in Indianapolis December 18, 1962 and passed on August 30, 2021, The son of Paul L. and Audrey J. Carter.
Mark attended Public School 60 and Arlington High School.
Mark moved to Sarasota, Florida for several years, only to realize, ‘there’s no place like home’. Mark returned to Indianapolis and because he showed there was always a solution to any household repair, he continued to wear his nickname of ‘Fred Sanford’ with pride.
Mark loved to eat the concoctions he produced, watch TV, listen to jazz and tinker about his yard.
Mark was pre-deceased by his parents, Paul and Audrey Carter, and sister, Jacqueline Carter Mays Bonner.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his lifetime partner, Ophelia Bible; sisters, Stephanie A. Smith, Indianapolis, Terrie L. Burkes (Dennis), Atlanta, GA; and brothers, Timothy L. Carter (Roslyn) and Anthony J. Carter, Indianapolis.
He will truly be missed by those he referred to as his step-children and step-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12pm to 1pm on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 1pm. Burial to follow at Sutherland Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
