July 12, 1966 ~ September 19, 2021
Born in: Columbus , IN
Resided in: Anderson, IN
Melissa C. Lehr, age 55, of Anderson, went to be with Jesus on September 19, 2021 at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was born on July 12, 1966 to the late James and Carole Mathis.
Melissa was a major volunteer for Faith Church for many years. She was a social butterfly who thrived on being around people. She loved crafting and her family and friends never received a store-bought card from her. She was a people magnet, always having the best energy around her. She also volunteered at Outfitters in Pendleton and would make food for the police and fire stations on occasion. She loved children and babysitting was her gift, even if it wasn’t her kids. She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandma, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Melissa is survived by her loving husband of 7 years, Tim Lehr; children Jeff Voiles of Greensburg, Ryan Tipton of Anderson, and Carl Lehr (Shelby) of Daleville; grandchildren Julianne, Isaiah, and Whitney; brothers Mark and Matt Mathis both of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents listed above and brother Michael Dean Mathis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Church at a later date. Cremation was handled through Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
May each of you find courage to face tomorrow as you rest in the knowledge that we truly care about each of your needs and that we will be here to walk beside you in your journey of grief.

Whenever I think of Melissa, the picture in my mind is of her smile – can’t remember if I ever saw her without it 💕
I only recently met Melissa, but I loved her very much. I’m so glad I will see her again. Praying for you Tim and her family!
My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family, I will always remember Melissa from when she came to Urban Outreach to serve and I still have the beautiful cards she crafted and sent to me. Rest in Gods care and peace.
Melissa was a great person to look up too. She was there for my mother and I in the best and worst parts of our lives. I will miss her dearly and thought nothing but the world of her. Prayers for all.

Melissa always had a smile for you. A prayer or a time to help you. She was funny and could be serious. She loved her family and her friends.
She did little things that let you know that she really cared. Like the time her and I were in the car together and she stopped and took a picture of a round barn. I asked her if she like round barns. She said that her husband did. She wanted it to do something for their anniversary. They did not celebrate just their yearly anniversary they celebrated the monthly anniversary. She was so thoughtful.
When she came to help me to pack up my sister after her divorce she brought both my sister and I a gift. She was very much involved in your life if she knew you very caring.
I send my deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to Tim, Jeff, Ryan, Alan, Shelby and family.
Prayers for Melissa’s entire family. RIP
We went to Faith Church with Melissa for Years. She was Nice and Friendly and Always Greeted People with a Smile. Prayers for Tim and Ryan and all her Family! So Sorry for your Loss! God Bless!
I worked with Melissa for many years at Gecom, we had fun working together. I moved away, when I moved back to Greensburg she was my neighbor 🙂
The first week I moved in she was the first one there with a loaf of banana bread, I ate every bit of it. She was a good Friend and neighbor! Good bye my ray of sunshine, I can’t believe you are gone!
I met Melissa at the Dollar Tree in Anderson last month.
I was in there buying crafting items and so was she.
We tried to become Facebook friends but for some reason FB wouldn’t let us. 😔
I wish we could of connected more and I feel like I missed out on a great friend!
Rest In Peace!!
