Michael David Hampton

Jan 27, 1946-Oct 29, 2020 Michael Hampton was born on Jan 27, 1946 to James and Irene Hampton in Elwood, IN. Mike went home to be with his beloved wife, Linda R. Hampton on Oct 29, 2020 after a brief illness.

He was an active member of Anderson Bass Chasers, a loyal race fan, active member of the Dirty Dozen euchre club, and enjoyed the leading role as prankster of the family. He was a Harley enthusiast and enjoyed riding with his siblings and friends for many years.

Mike was survived by a large family who loved him dearly. Son Brad Hampton; Daughter Deanna Johnson (Jon); Sister Vivian Williams; Grand Children Tiffany Dzerve, Kristen Johnson, Kara Hampton, Braiden Hampton (Brenna), Breanna Johnson, Johnny Johnson (Maria); 7 Great Grandchildren. Special extended family Alma Hampton, John and Judy Johnson, the Stephens family and partner in crime William Figel.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Linda Hampton, brother Bob Hampton, father James Hampton, mother Irene Hampton and special friend David Hedgecraft.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Carroll and his E.R. staff at St. Johns for your caring and generosity during our time of loss.

In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to cover funeral expenses.

A visitation will be held on November 4, 2020 from 1-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services – Anderson.

  4. Much Love to all . spent many summers staying at the house,going to the races and fishing. Even though Mike & Linda were my cousins they were more like my Uncle & Aunt with the age difference. Mike sold me my first car so you know it was nice because he took such pride in taking care of them. He would stop by occasionally to make sure it was running ok.❤️

  7. Mike was a member of the Johnson’d and will be sadly missed! I know with no doubt that Linda was there to greet him at the gates of Heaven! My heart breaks for Deanna and Brad’s loss and the grief they must be going through, I am so sorry for your loss and please know you have àlot of people that will always be here for you and we will always feel that YOU ARE OUR FAMILY!

Papaw you were the funniest most enjoyable person to be around you always were smiling and had an infectious laugh everybody that was around you was always happy you were the best grandpa I could ever ask for you would always be there to pick me and ry up just to go get slushee from rickers or make us your delecious strawberries with ice cream I will miss you so much but I know I’ll get to see you soon I hope your having fun with mamaw Linda RIP I love you bunches
