Michelle Renee Johnson, 46, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on January 26, 2023.  She was born on December 19, 1976, in Staunton, VA. Michelle was raised in Staunton by her parents, Teresa (Newlen) Waitier and Albert Waitier, and resided there most of her life, until she moved out to Indianapolis.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Teresa Lynn (Newlen) Waitier (passed on September 14, 1998).

Michelle is survived by her daughter, Mackenzie Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Billie Sue Balser of Staunton, VA; father, Albert Waitier of Staunton, VA; brother, Joey Botkin of Staunton, VA; and uncles, Bruce Newlen (Lisa) and Scott Newlen (Gail); along with extended family and friends.

  11. As Michelle’s cousin, I have known her since she was born. She was lively as a child and as an adult. I have enjoyed over the years watching her as a mother. She will be missed.
