Rev. Robert E. Schrack, age 86, of Indianapolis, IN died on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Community Hospital North. He was born on July 19, 1929 in Mansfield, OH to the late Laverne A. and Ruth E. (Elliott) Schrack.
Rev. Schrack was a Lutheran Pastor for over 60 years serving ELCA congregations in Chicago, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Jonesboro, KY before retiring to Indianapolis. He attended Servants of Christ Lutheran Church and was very proud of his involvement with the ecumenical community. He was appointed a Kentucky Colonel for his ministry in the state of Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife Diana Schrack of Indianapolis; daughter, Gail Fowler of Annapolis, MD and son, Thomas (Nancy) Tuttle of Timonium, MD; grandchildren Nicole (Walter) Sampson and Rachel Tuttle as well as 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Schrack and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Servants of Christ Lutheran Church, 7650 Oaklandon Rd., Indianapolis, IN. Burial will be at Pavonia Cemetery in Mansfield, OH at a later date.
Memorial donation in Rev. Schrack’s memory can be made to the Servants of Christ Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
