ANDERSON — Robert Dennis “Denny” Carr, age 73, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2023, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on Aug. 20, 1949, to Robert D. Carr and Ruthanne (Amick) Rector.

After graduating high school, Robert served in the Navy briefly. He then worked and retired from IUOE as a crane operator. He also worked as a truck driver for many years.
Throughout life Robert also served as a Boy Scout leader. Robert could fix and/or build just about anything. He held many titles, some being fabricator, welder, mechanic. He
could plan and build working machinery, sawmills, and stump grinders. Aside from being an extremely hard worker, Robert was also a man of faith. He was kind, loving, and generous. He enjoyed traveling, especially loved to snorkel and dive. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robertis survived by his wife, Phyllis Carr; sons, Dan Carr (Maxine) and Randy Carr; grandchildren, Crystal Mitchell, Randall Mitchell (Nancy), Sandra Grubb (Ryan), Lora Filgrove (Nic), Chelsie Carr, Remington Carr (Sophia), and Ariel Carr; stepchildren, Kevan O’Bryant (Lucinda) and Krista Newbold; several great -grandchildren; siblings, Stephanie Williams (Tim), Marcia Porter, Debby Sheets (Rex); several nieces and nephews; Aunt Ann Carr; and best friend, Dan Tanner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. Carr and Ruthanne (Amick) Rector.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. April 22, 2023, at Alexandria Community Church, 10963 N. Walnut St., Alexandria, IN 46001.
Cremation was handled through Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service-Anderson
