Alex Dwayne Fortune

Alex Dwayne Fortune sang his last song on June 6, 2020 at 51 years young. His singing has not been ruled out, however we believe the cause was his heart was too big and he loved too much. His heart just couldn’t keep up. He closed his eyes and is now at peace, guarding all that he loved from above.

His journey began on July 5. 1968 in Anderson, IN to Murna Hoover and father at heart Jeffrey Eutsler.

Alex loved his job as the maintenance director at Lynd Place in Muncie, IN. He found joy in the daily interaction with residents and his co workers. Going above and beyond his duties to put a smile on everyone’s face. Throughout his life, he was blessed with many talents. Being an artist was top of his list, showing his work through ink on a canvas. He loved jumping in the car to go on adventures, no destination. He had a love for music and loved blaring the speakers to his favorite band, Blue October.

Alex is survived by his wife Lisa Fortune; special friend Shana Miller; best friends Jennifer Justice and Tommy Bray; children Dwyane Etchison, Rodney Moreland (Christina), Wendie Dotson (Nathan), Darian Fortune, Justin Abbott, Tyler McCord, Kameron Fortune (Sarah), Wesley Fortune, Delanie Fortune, and Yehven Fortune; siblings Geoffrey Eutsler (Dandelion Pumphrey), Jami Carson (David), Thelma Austin (Tracy Foreman), and Ronnie Byrns (Mike); several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by Murna Hoover, Jeff Eutsler, Ron Fortune, and Avery Kate.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 3-6pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson, 504 W. 9th St. Anderson, IN 46016.A funeral service will follow the next day, June 16, 2020 beginning at 12pm. Cremation will follow. Pastor Benny Santiago will be officiating.
