Allen “Butch” Dew, Jr.
Sunrise: April 30, 1949
Sunset: September 8, 2021
God saw him getting tired and a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around him and whispered, “Butch” come with Me
Although we loved him dearly we could not make him stay
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best!
So as we say good-bye to you today
Dad/Grandpa/Brother/Uncle/Cousin/Best Friend/Loving Husband
We want the world to know of the love that we have for you and thank you for the wonderful memories we shall forever hold in our hearts.
Obituary
Allen “Butch” Dew, Jr., was born in Springfield, Illinois, April 30, 1949. The son of proud parents Sarah Frances Dew “Meme” and Allen Dew, Sr. Allen accepted Christ into his life, and attended Emerson Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Allen attended John Muir High School, Pasadena, California. He worked many years as a freelance Artist.
Allen met his wife, Judy Gail Dew on July 8, 2008. Judy became Mrs. Allen Butch Dew, Jr., on January 28, 2015. From this union there were no children. Although he was blessed with two very handsome sons. His high school “sweetheart” was Lita Bianca McDonald and from that union came one child, Allen Dew, III. He wed Terry Lynn-Dew in 1977 and from that union came one child, Ferecio “Butch” Dew.
Allen made his transition in the early hours of September 8, 2021; he had a peaceful and quiet departure. Though he is no longer with us, his love and spirit will live on forever in our hearts. Through it all he gave God all the glory for his life.
Allen was a great host and entertainer. He took great pride in being able to share his life, his home, and all of his possessions with those who meant so much to him. He did this willingly and unselfishly with magnificent style and grace. He always made himself available to all his family and friends whenever they called. He was truly a devoted son, husband, father, brother, cousin, uncle and “Best Friend”.
Allen leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Judy Gail Dew, Indiana; two loving children, Allen Dew, III, California, Ferecio “Butch” Dew, Indiana; two sisters, Sheila Juanita Dew (Baker), California, Victoria Lynn Dew (Burnett); brother-in-law, Donald Burnett, Sr., Ohio; grandchildren, from Allen – Brooklynn, Jaydyn, Kathleen, Alonzo, Allen Dew, IV, DeAllen and Mariah, from Ferecio – Kamora, Little Ferecio, Janaysha and Azyia; nieces, Jeannette Michelle Sylvers, Bridgit Delashawn Buckley, Melissa Ixchell Simpson, Jamie Buckley and Lauren Geminisse Cisneros; nephews, Jeffrey Keith Patridge, Jr., California, and Donald Burnett, Jr., Ohio; along with a slew of great nieces and nephews. A Tribute to You
“Butch” as we gather here today to wish you peace on your new journey, we all will be reflecting on our own individual memories and experiences of the journey that you traveled with us.
However, collectively we share and will continue to share the thing that made you special and unique to us, and that was your capacity to love and your zest for life. We will cherish the infinite wisdom you shared with us even though the words sometimes were unspoken. As a family you showed us the unconditional love that bonded us together forever. Yes! We speak of love because love is the legacy that you have left behind.
“Butch”, you have taught us that life has its ups and downs. You showed us that whatever life throws our way, the love of our families should not suffer. We have all come to know the pain in life that is endured. We can only thank you for loving us enough to share your pain, which has allowed us to learn and grow into the individuals that we are today. You Never Gave Up.
“Butch”, our stories and words could flow forever about what you are to us. However, we end our tribute to you with the loving memories of a MAN who gave his love to his whole family and who believed that nothing should tarnish this love.
So, as we say good-bye to you today, we want the world to know of the love that we have for this MAN affectionately called “Butch”. Sleep well! We love you and may you rest in peace.
Your Loving Family.
