Anna Marie Francis (Braun) Marshall loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend passed away on April 16th, 2020 at 98 years young.
She is now reunited w her siblings, Celestia Bergfeld (Arthur), Delephine Mcnutt (Bert), Clarence Braun, Marie and Loraine Braun. Anna is survived by sister-in-law Mildred Braun.
Anna was born on June 24th, 1921 to the late Henry and Laura Braun on a farm in Effingham, Illinois where she completed 8 years of schooling in a one room schoolhouse that her and her siblings walked to every day.
She moved to Indpls in the early 40’s where she sewed gloves for the war effort at The Indpls Glove Factory and later worked at ELI Lilly, where she made many lifelong friends. Anna met James Marshall in 1953, and their first date was at The Indiana Roof Ballroom. They were married in 1955 and their 63-year bond and love for one another was apparent to all.
She was a simple person who loved working in her large garden and canned enough food yearly to sustain her family of 4. She had many side jobs doing work for people in the community including ironing, cleaning homes and businesses, sewing and repairing garments and childcare.
Anna loved her 3 grandsons, James Fleek (Melissa), Neill Manley and Jeremy Keenan and always treasured her time spent with them and later in life her three great grandchildren, Paige, McKenzie and Mason Fleek.
She never knew a stranger and always had a kind word or story about everyone she met or knew.
Anna truly was a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
Anna was a 60 plus year member of Nativity Catholic Church and their oldest living parishioner. She was also active with The Daughters of Isabella.
