Anthony David Chappelow

Anthony David Chappelow, 64, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Anthony “Tony” was born on July 28, 1955 in Shelbyville, Indiana to the late David and Nona Stephens Chappelow Gennicks. Tony served in the United States Army from August 1, 1972 through January 23, 1976. He later worked at Ford Motor Company, BookWalter and owned his own painting company, T & C Painting for several years.

Tony was an avid football fan, loved horse racing and gambling, fishing and watching professional wrestling and crime TV. He loved to collect things, especially Coca Cola and Beatles memorabilia. Tony never knew a stranger and had friends everywhere he went. He was funny, loved to tease, was outgoing, big-hearted and hard working. He was a good provider and a loving dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his daughters, Cassie Michalski (Ski), and Meaghan Amos; son, Chad Godwin (Carli); grandchildren, Hannah, Victor, Lilly, Tyler, Catcher and Casen; great- granddaughter, Alina; sisters, Phyllis Jewell, Christine Sebastian (Larry) and Diane Wagers (Lane); brothers, Victor (Sherree), Michael (Amber), Danny (Patty), Randy and Paul (Tamera); and step-mother, Faye Chappelow Grubbs.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis with visitation starting at 1:30 p.m. until the start of the service. Military service and burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
