Anthony Sutton

Anthony Sutton, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 6, 2018. He was born in Indianapolis on February 3, 1951 to the late Jack and Helen (Holloman) Sutton. Anthony graduated from Northwest High School in 1970 and attended Indiana University, graduating with a B. S. in Business Administration.

Anthony started his professional career with Motorola as a Senior Buyer who procured required instrumentation for Motorola to develop the first cell phone (“The Brick”; remember?). Anthony then moved into corporate sales positions at companies such as Schlumberger Technologies and IFR Systems where he assumed the position of director of domestic and international sales and marketing.

In 2003, Anthony moved into the fast paced world of auto sales where he quickly became well known in the Indianapolis auto industry. He served customers for nearly 15 years managing dealerships and providing excellent service to all. Once you bought a vehicle from Anthony, you never bought from anyone else. He finally retired in October, 2017 from Wetzel Auto group of Richmond, IN.

Anthony was involved in several racquetball clubs throughout his adult life. He was an avid golfer, watched sports with friends, and always had a great time with the people he loved.
Anthony’s true passion was enjoying anything that related to water; sailing, body surfing, and relaxing on the beach. He also loved traveling, especially to Mexico with his wife, Sheila. Anthony also doted on his family and friends.

Anthony is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sheila; children, Anthony II and wife Julia, Rachael, Matthew, Sean and Allison. He is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Wayne Sutton and younger brother David Sutton.

A funeral service will be held at 4pm on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with visitation starting at 2 PM until the time of service.
