Anthony “Tony” Bruno Hannemann, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 2, 2022. He was born on July 5, 1958 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Manfred and Sandra (Drinkut) Hannemann. Tony attended John Marshall High School. He worked for 15 years at Permanent Magnet and then as a lead installer for 17 years at Hoosier Filing, until he had to leave due to his first round of illness with cancer, which he beat. Tony then started his own mowing service, until the cancer came back 12 years later.
Tony loved playing tennis and bowling on a league. He loved going to the beach, and frequently went to St. Pete with his family. Tony loved being outdoors. He could always be found working in the yard, tending his flowers, or relaxing on the deck.
Tony was one of the most caring and giving man you could ever meet. His kindness and compassion would extend beyond family and friends, and onto complete strangers that he would give all he could to help no matter what his own circumstances might be. He was quick with a smile, hug and laughter that was contagious. Everyone who knows Tony, knows that he loved life and loved people, especially his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above.
Tony is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sharon Hannemann; children, Chana Stiemert (Mike) and Kevin Powell (Jill); grandchildren, Maggie Stiemert, Gage Stiemert, Kennedy Powell, Riley Powell and Bailey Powell; siblings, Kathy Lazaropolis (Mike), Manny Hannemann (Angie), Debbie Badgley (Randy) and Erik Hannemann (Cara); step-mother, Kathy Hannemann; aunts, Elsa Mankus and Joyce Stoner of Seattle, WA; uncle, Rick Drinkut; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
There will be a memorial service at 6pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Sugar Grove Bible Church, 5448 E 900 N, Greenfield, IN 46140 with a gathering from 4pm to 6pm. Cremation Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, the Hannemann family is asking guests to consider contributing to the family to assist with medical bills.
