Antonio "Gerald" Edwards Iii

Antonio “Gerald” Edwards III, age 24, passed away Monday September 23, 2019 at Community North Hospital. Antonio was born August 6, 1995 to Tonia Janeece Karandos and the late Jerry “Gerald” Antonio Edwards Jr.  Antonio worked in food services as a cook.  He completed his GED through Lawrence Central High School. Antonio truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, spending time with friends and family and enjoying music. He was very creative artistically and intellectually.

He is survived by his mother, Tonia; his brother, Caleb Jamison Edwards; his grandmother, Sunee Edwards; his uncles, Tony (Pam) Karandos, Bob Colcord and Jimmy Edwards; aunts, Tammy (Steve) Howard, Tracie (Rodney) McDanel and Tena (Mike) May; his cousins, Karie, Tamera, Amy, Jamie (Ryan), Nathaniel (Diana), Michael (Olga), Jason, Halsey (Freddie), Trenton (Sara), Travis, Trista (Jon), Jimmy, Tyler, Corey, Mason and Jade. As well as his numerous second cousins that were more like siblings and friends. Honoring him as Pallbearers are Caylend McDanel, Sheldon Roberts, Clarence Webb, Jimmy Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Michael Twyman, Trai Cottrell and Aji’on Fonville.

Antonio was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; his grandfathers, James Michael Karandos and Gerald Antonio Edwards Sr.; his grandmother, Pauline Karandos; his brother, Jachai Jernee Edwards; his aunt, Terri Janet Colcord; and cousin, April Dawn McDanel.

Tonio, you were a free spirit in a world full of restrictions. We hope you find your peace at God’s side. Spread your wings, fly high and fly free Lil Tonio. “It’s not the length of life but the depth” as you once said. We love you and will miss you through all eternity until we meet again.

Visitation will be from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 2pm. There will be a graveside service at 1pm on Monday, September 30, 2019 in the chapel on the grounds of Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville, IN, where Antonio will be laid to rest.
