Barbara Jean Curtis

73, of Indianapolis, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. She was born on March 24, 1944 in Pensacola, Florida to the late Estelle Curtis and Robert Curtis.
Barbara relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1977 to care for her sister. She retired from Westin Hotel as an Executive Housekeeper. Barbara was a Faithful Member of Jerusalem Christian Center. She was loved by many young adults and many adult friends. Some of her favorite enjoyments were cooking and going to church and being around friends. Barbara loved her family, distant and close, and especially her children.
Barbara is survived by: three children, Alicia Evans James (Johnny), Valarie Plummer (Jimmy), and Anthony Curtis; three grandchildren, Keisha, Britney, and Delisa; and one great-grandson, LaDarious; three sisters, Carolyn, Rachel, and Brenda Ann from Pensacola, FL; and one brother, Leonard from Pensacola, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Barbara is preceded in death by five siblings, along with her parents mentioned above.
A home going celebration will be at 1pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with visitation from 12noon to the start of the service. Burial to follow at Sutherland Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
