Barbara Jean Diggs

Barbara Jean Anderson Diggs, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, went Home to her Lord on Friday, July 12, 2019.  Barbara was born April 19, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Robert Anderson and Laura Mae Collins.

Barbara was employed by Continental Baking for 25 years and retired on September 14, 1994. She was a long-time member of Calvary Temple where she served on the bereavement committee and was an active participant in Prayer Tower. She enjoyed attending church retreats and traveling.

Barbara’s artistic skills were displayed in her cake decorating, quilting, and crocheting. She enjoyed creating unique and memorable gifts for her family.

Barbara is survived by a loving family including her children and their spouses; Randy Harlan, Laurette (Jack) Burks, Theresa (Steve) Stierwalt, Sarah (Stan) Collins, Sam (Janice) Harlan; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L Diggs; her former husband, Winifred R Harlan; 2 sisters; 6 brothers; and her daughter-in law, Nikki Harlan.

Visitation will be from 12-2 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N Shadeland Avenue.  Funeral services will begin at 2 pm.  Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
