Barbara Lee (Stuckey) Ehrlich
On Wednesday May 5th, 2021 Barbara Lee (Stuckey) Ehrlich passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was 93 years old.
Barbara was born September 15th, 1927 in Marion, Ohio, the fourth daughter of Ernst and Ella (Davis) Stuckey, both deceased. She earned her Teaching Degree from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio in 1949. Where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. On February 4th of that same year, she married her college sweetheart William “Bill” Ehrlich, who preceded her in death November 6th, 2011.
Barbara was very active in the community. She was a Golden Girl and Charter Member of Chapter DC of the P.E.O. International Sisterhood. Barbara was an active member of the Anderson Museum of Art since its founding; she was Past President of the AMOF’s Women’s League and the Sale & Rental Gallery. She was a Life Member of Victoria Guild, as well as a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Beaux Arts and Knikafelia. She had, also, been a Troop Leader for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Anderson Country Club with her husband Bill, where they loved to play golf.
Besides being a wife, mother, grandmother, volunteer, and homemaker, as a young woman she taught Kindergarten through Third Grade. Later in life she helped her husband with the family business as Marketing Manager for Insurance Solutions, Inc.
Barbara is survived by her three children, William “Rick” Ehrlich, Linda “Lee” Ehrlich-Blair (James Hollis) of Petoskey, Michigan, and Jeffrey Ehrlich of Anderson, Indiana; three grandchildren, Michele Daffron-Frogge (Shawn) of Anderson, Indiana, Sophie Mullins (Zach) of Anderson, Indiana, and Rachel Ehrlich-Blair of Petoskey, Michigan, as well as two great-grandchildren Walker Mullins and Ella Mullins both of Anderson. She was preceded in death by her siblings Lucille Spetnagle, Kathryn Erlandson, Virginia Smoot and John S. Stuckey, all who called her Bobby.
The arts were a very important part of her life. She always encouraged those around her to express their creativity. She enjoyed painting, she also enjoyed singing with the Madison County Music Makers. She loved spending summers at her cottage in Boyne City, Michigan.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Legacy Cremation & Funeral, 504 West 9th Street, Anderson, Indiana. Her memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 5:30 p.m. also at the funeral home.
