Mrs. Beatrice Evelyn Davis, daughter of the late Herbert and Cora Johnson, was born July 6, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she attended George Strange School.
At an early age, Beatrice married Benjamin Flowers Sr., and together they had nine lovely children. She was preceded in death by four of their children: Benjamin Jr., Sidney, Pam, and Patricia Flowers, along with, Benjamin Flowers Sr., four brothers, and two sisters.
In 1981, Beatrice married John Davis. They live happily together until his passing in 1983.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading the daily paper, shopping, cooking for others, planting flowers, as well as traveling. After being a nurse’s aid in the Detention Ward at Wishard Memorial Hospital for 20 years, she retired.
Beatrice was a caring, thoughtful, loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother and most of all Nana to the many who loved her.
She was a member of Abounding Grace Church of God, located at 6280 Sunnyside Rd, in Indianapolis, IN. There, she was not only the eldest member, but a Mother of the Church.
On Thursday July 4, 2019, at the age of Eighty-Nine years young, Beatrice was called home.
Her memories will always be cherished by her five remaining children, Jacquelyn Hill, Joyce Hayes, Sabrina Blakey (Ron), Terri Franklin (Donald) and Johnny Flowers. Additionally, she will be cherished by her 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 19 grand, 23 great, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A Homegoing Celebration will be at 1pm on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with visitation starting at 12noon. Burial to follow at Sutherland Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
