Beckie Sue Shaw

Beckie Franklin Shaw, 72, passed away after a battle with cancer on Saturday December 29, 2018.

She was born in Muncie, the daughter of Don and Dortha Franklin. She graduated from Muncie Central in 1964. A homemaker and mother for many years, she continued her love of helping others when she became an LPN. Once retired she continued to use her skills as a substitute school nurse for Anderson Community Schools. There she was known as Grandma Beckie.

Surviving are her three children David Shaw (Christine), Cathy Dowd (Scott), and Rob Shaw. Three grandchildren Victoria Schofield, Karissa Dowd, and Cameron Dowd. She leaved behind her dear friends of many years, Karen Clark, Dixie Reed, and Charlotte Ellington. Many nieces and nephews and adopted grandchildren.

The family would like to thank IU Health Hospice, Dr. Gibson, and the Simon Center for the care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in remembrance of Beckie.

Per her request, there will be a pizza party for one and all. Please contact the family for details pertaining to this. Her wish was for all to share good memories, and smiles.
