Benny L. Mcbride

d. December 28, 2021

Anderson, IN

Benny McBride, age 74, of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2021 at Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born in Casey, IL on April 4, 1947 to the late Rev. Benjamin H. McBride and Amanda Grace (Kelly) McBride.

Benny moved to Anderson at age 13 and resided there the rest of his life. He was a retiree of General Motors. Benny was a dedicated Christian and was a member of North Anderson Wesleyan Church for many years. He was dedicated to reading his bible every day and loved attending church with his family.

Benny loved to spend his free time fishing, hunting, going to the land his family owned, and talking with friends on his CB radio. He was a wonderful leader and teacher, always having a story to tell. He was extremely wise and always had little facts to share. He was witty, loved to talk, and didn’t know a stranger. He was stubborn, but he had a true heart of gold. He was giving to a fault. He was the best husband, father, and grandpa you could ask for. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Benny is survived by his wife Sherry (Malstan) McBride of 51 years; children Julie Whitlow (Ron), Eric McBride, and Nathan McBride (Jessica); grandchildren Jesse Brandon (Mindy) and Cheyenne Underwood (John); great-grandchildren Jaydon and Lillianne; brothers Tom McBride (Janie) and Kenny McBride; several nieces and nephews; and best friend Ranny Simmons.

He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Amanda McBride.

Private family services will be held at the funeral home. Public graveside services will take place on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 12pm at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
