Betty Ann Driver, 88, of Greenfield, IN, passed away on January 23, 2019. She was born on February 8, 1930, in Chattanooga, TN, specifically Signal Mountain, to the late Wilbert and Alice (Simons) Smith. Betty was a homemaker, lovingly raising her 4 children and taking care of her home, especially sweeping (she always had a broom in her hand). Later in life, she studied on her own and was able to receive her GED from Greenfield High School. She was an avid member of Church of God in Greenfield, IN.
Betty loved to crochet and work puzzles. She would quilt with her mother when she was little, and kept quilting later, helping her remember her times growing up on Signal Mountain.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Driver, along with her parents, mentioned above; and her brothers, John G. Smith and Wilbert W. Smith.
Betty is survived by her children, Alice Faye Miller (Dan), Deborah Jenkinson, Jerry W. Driver, and Leroy “Glenn” Driver; daughter-in-law, Linda Sprowl; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be at 1pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with visitation starting at 12pm until the start of the service. Betty’s final resting place will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
