Billie Sue Day, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 30, 2024. She was born on January 3, 1940, in Jacksonburg, IN, to the late William A. and Mary E. (Reed) Clark. Billie grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Manual High School in 1958. She attended Indiana Central College, which is referred to now as the University of Indianapolis. Billie was a substitute teacher in Warren Township for many years. Then later in life, she became the office manager for Clark Appliance which was owned by family members.
Billie loved animals and took in many stray dogs and cats over the years. She tried to make sure that no animal in her community went hungry. She would take care of all that graced her doorstep. Her longtime cat, Mr. B, went to Heaven shortly before Billie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above; sister, Mary O. Clark; and longtime companion, Bob Southers.
Billie is survived by her children, Ronald “Ron” Day (Patricia Bergano), Robin Litel (John), and Timothy “Tim” Day (Sarah); 7 grandchildren (Kelley (Litel) Smith, Anna Marie (Day) Ferguson, Carri Day, Sean Litel, Jeremiah "Jeremy" Day, Joshua “Josh” Day, and Gretchen Day); 4 great grandchildren (Nadya Spears, Wyatt Smith, Grayson Smith, and Jonah Day); sister, Sandra E. Waterman, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Services will be private. Billie’s final resting place is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Lawrence.
