Billie Ford Throgmorton, age 83, of Anderson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 5, 2020. Billie was 1 of 9 children, born to Wade Samuel and Mable Throgmorton.
Billie was born and raised in Trenton, TN. As a young man, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served 8 years. He then later retired from Delco Remy. After his retirement, he was able to spend time with family, enjoy traveling, and watc Nascar races. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. Billie also loved to spend time outside enjoying his bird feeder collection. He enjoyed watching western movies and never turned down an invite to supper for beans and cornbread. Billie devoted his life to following and sharing about Jesus Christ and was a member of the Baptist Faith.
Billie is survived by on sister JoRuth Myers of Anderson; daughter Diane Johnson of Anderson; son Gary Throgmorton (Toni Raper). He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy M. Throgmorton and 7 siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Little Red Door in honor of Billie.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 11am-12pm with a funeral service beginning at 12pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service Anderson. Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery. Grandson Thomas Throgmorton will be officiating along with Branden Throgmorton and Cortney Throgmorton sharing memories.
A memorial service will also be held at Bethany Village Assisted Living at a later date.
