It is with profound sadness that we the family of Brian Smith announce his sudden passing in Indianapolis, IN on February 10, 2022. Brian passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Oct 4, 1957, Brian spent most of his life living and working in Ontario, Canada. Brian was a loyal employee of Kodak Canada for 26 years. Brian loved fishing and boating. He shared many fond memories with friends on annual fishing trips and many early mornings and days were spent on the Severn Falls River with his children. Brian loved to travel to the Caribbean in search of the beach and warm sun. After moving to Indiana, Brian became interested in building model train sets. Brian will be most remembered for his quick-witted humour, love of dogs and country music.

Predeceased by his parents John V. Smith and Margaret (Sutton) Smith and older brother John F. Smith. Comfort can be found in knowing he is reunited with first-born son, Darren Brian Smith who passed away of cancer in 2017.

Brian is survived by his daughter, Lindsey (Jamie) MacIntosh, son, John (Faith) Smith, his two grandchildren, Finley and Fallyn MacIntosh, partner Melissa Flores and her extended family. Brian will be greatly missed by his twin brother and best friend Grant Smith, niece and nephew Candice and Kelly and the rest of the Smith family.

The family of Brian Smith would like to genuinely thank the Neuro/Surgical/Trauma ICU team at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for their professionalism, outstanding care and compassion.

There will be a memorial gathering from 12pm to 1pm on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, with a memorial service to start at 1pm at the funeral home. Brian’s final resting place will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
