Carol L. Albaugh

April 25, 1954 — January 12, 2020

Indianapolis, Indiana

Carol L. Albaugh, born April 25, 1954 (65), Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 12, 2020, in her home. Carol fought a long battle against congestive heart failure.

She lived each day to the fullest, never allowed her health problems to stop her smile, and gave love to the fullest extent of her being.

Carol leaves behind two daughters, Rachelle Smith (son-in-law, Roy Smith Jr.) of New Whiteland, IN, and Cassie Emans-McKee of Royse City, TX; a son, Jacob Albaugh, of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Bryon Collins, Landon Smith, Paige Scheerer, Madison Scheerer, and Jake Scheerer; brothers, Craig (Sharon) Shepard and Chuck (Connie) Shepard; and a sister, Christy (Greg) Unger, as well as many friends and other family members.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one child.

Carol was an avid baker. She spent much of her free time baking cookies and cakes. Carol loved to garden and sit outside among the flowers watching the hummingbirds in the summertime. Carol was loved deeply and will be missed by all of those she leaves behind.

Carol wished for no traditional funeral services, as she did not want any to mourn her passing, but rejoice in the life she lived and know she went home to be with the Lord. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cross Life Baptist Church on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 12pm-3pm, 7030 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46259. Please come and celebrate Carol’s life, have some food/deserts, and share memories of a strong, amazing woman.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute donations to a charity of your choice.
