Carol Lee Elliott

Indianapolis, Indiana

Carol Lee Elliott, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 31, 2022.  She was born in Bedford, IN on August 1, 1932, to the late Charles and Louisa (Watson) Johnson.  Carol graduated from Shortridge High School in 1950.  She worked at Indiana Gear, where she met her future husband, and later at RCA. Once her kids were older, Carol’s main job in life was taking care of her family.

Carol loved to cook and bake all kinds of goodies for her family.  She loved seeing the rabbits, squirrels, and birds playing and drinking from the fountain in her backyard.  She also was in a euchre club for 42 years with 8 friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Max Elliott; her parents, mentioned above.

Carol is survived by her son, Mark Elliott (who has been her primary caregiver for many years); her daughter, Marcie Willhite; 1 grandchild Ashleigh Gerbers, grandson-in-law Andrew Gerbers; 2 great grandchildren, Jordan Gerbers and Caleb Gerbers; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indianapolis Zoo.

Visitation will be from 12pm to 1pm on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services, 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue, with a service to start at 1pm. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
