Carolyn Ann Cochran, born on January 29, 1962, passed away on January 2, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, whose warm heart and caring nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Carolyn was well recognized for her extraordinary ability to showcase the true meaning of unconditional love, particularly to her family.
Throughout her life, Carolyn enjoyed a variety of interests that reflected her vibrant personality. She was a passionate music lover, deriving joy from both playing and listening. Carolyn had a particular talent for the piano, a skill that blossomed from her keen observation of the pianist at her church. This passion for music extended to her family, as she derived immense pleasure from playing and singing, often bringing joy to gatherings and quiet evenings alike.
In her youth, Carolyn was actively involved in her community and school life. At Decatur Central High School, Carolyn was a cheerleader and a member of the Goldenaires Show Choir before her graduation in 1980. These experiences shaped her into the encouraging and uplifting person she became, always ready to support those around her.
On May 15, 1982, Carolyn married Ron Cochran, and the family they created brought her immeasurable joy, particularly her cherished roles as a wife and mother. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Ron Cochran, and her two daughters, Jordan (Daniel) Von Essen and Hannah Cochran. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Avalynn, Emmrick, and Lillyanna Von Essen, who loved to color pictures for their "Mimi" as they called her. Her dog, Gizmo, will also miss her. Additionally, Carolyn will be dearly remembered by her siblings, including her brother, Jeff (Tina) Patterson, and her sister, Ronda (Todd) Compton, her sister-in-law, Laura (Kipp) Glenn. She also leaves behind her brothers-in-law, Rex Cochran and Steve Cochran. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Patterson; Ted and Joel Doolin; Larry and Nina Johnson; and Norman Cochran.
A visitation will be held in her honor on January 15, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at 1604 W Morris St, Indianapolis, IN 46221. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location, starting at 2:00 PM and concluding at 2:30 PM. Finally, a Graveside Service will take place at West Newton Cemetery, beginning at 3:30 PM and lasting until 3:45 PM.
The memories of Carolyn Ann Cochran will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, her legacy shining brightly through her relationships and the lives she touched with her kindness and musical spirit.
