Charlene Arnn Hobbs

Charlene Arnn Hobbs, 80, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on May 13th, 2024. She was born on November 4th, 1943, in Fulton, Kentucky to Charles Arnn and Mary Juanita (Adams) Arnn before relocating to Boonville, IN. A longtime Indianapolis resident, Charlene worked for Orthoindy for more than 20 years before retiring in 2019. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above; her sister, Angela (Arnn) Noble; and her husband, William Hobbs, whom she wed in 1989. 

Friends and family left to cherish her memory include her children, Debra (Hinton) Neal, Derek Hinton, and Dwayne Hinton; her grandchildren, Tobin, April, Amie, Chace, Bridgette, Haley, Rhiannon, and Dustin; and nine great-grandchildren. 

Charlene will be remembered as loving, warm, and welcoming to everyone, patient and sincere with those she loved. She gave her undivided attention to anyone that she listened and spoke to, she was a helping heart to everyone that crossed her path. Her smile and good humor lit up a room and her soft voice soothed the worries of all who knew her. 

She romanticized life and found little things to appreciate in life. She loved spending time with family, attending events for her grandchildren, and visiting family in Kentucky, as well as creating traditions to maintain with family and friends. Among her favorites were, browsing garage sales and visiting small towns for their local crafts and foods. Her family especially loved to tease her for her “gaudy” jewelry and her big, heavy purse. 

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Legacy Creation & Funeral Services- Lawrence on Friday, May 31^st, 2024, with funeral services immediately following. Charlene’s final resting place will be Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. 

Flowers may be sent to the funeral home for services, and donations in her honor may be made to Luminary Hospice and Furever We Love dog rescue (fureverwelove.com) where her senior dog is being fostered until he is ready for a new home.
