Charles Edward Dinwiddie Jr. 66, of Indianapolis, entered into God’s kingdom on April 18, 2016.
Charles was born in Indianapolis, on July 1, 1949 to the late Charles Edward Dinwiddie Sr. and the late Helen Lee Shute. In his youth he went to school # 64 graduating in 1963. He went on to Manuel High School, graduating in 1967. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in business. On a spiritual level, he was a member of New Garfield Baptist Church where he was an avid Sunday school member that learned to love and serve the lord.
On July 2, 1977 Charles married Elaine Buxton and entered into a union that lasted over 38 years. This union yielded one son, Charles Edward Dinwiddie III.
Charles enjoyed traveling, sports, and family. Left behind to cherish him and his memories is his wife and son, brothers: Carl Clark, Michael Shute, Larry Shute, and sister, Karen Pearson. He was preceded in death by a brother Marshall Shute and his sister Dedria Dinwiddie.
Charles served his country and was with the military police at Fort Riley Kansas serving until he was honorably discharged. His civilian career began at Indiana Nation and he ended his career at Ivy Tech.
Service for Charles will be on Monday April 25, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service, at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Service – Lawrence, 5215 North Shadeland Avenue Indianapolis, Indiana 46226.
