Charles G. 'Sonny' Berryman

Charles G. “Sonny” Berryman, Jr., 72, passed away at Community Hospital in Anderson, Indiana on December 28, 2016.

Sonny was born in Anderson, Indiana to Charles Gilbert and Margie (Knotts) Berryman on December 21, 1944. He attended Anderson High School and earned his GED from IVY Tech. Sonny married the love of his life, Linda, in 1987.

Sonny worked in Maintenance for several local companies: Anderson Community Schools,Hopewell, and The Center for Mental Health. He retired in 2010 as Head of Maintenance from IVY Tech State College.

Sonny enjoyed watching NASCAR, wrestling, Indianapolis Colts football, boxing, and kick boxing. He was a fan of country music, Elvis, and he was an avid Donald Trump supporter. He spent many fun hours on his laptop looking at Facebook. He had two dear furry friends, Bubba the dog and Jazzy the cat. But most of all, Sonnyloved his children and was a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding Sonny in death are his parents, Charles and Margie Berryman; and two brothers, Baby Berryman and Donnie Berryman.

Left to cherish Sonny’s memory is his wife of 29 years,Linda Foland Berryman; children, Christopher (girlfriend, Ardessa) Berryman,Chuck (Rachel) Berryman, Brian (Jennifer) Berryman, Steven Berryman, JoeBerryman, Ed (Jama) North, and Christian (Tim) Armstrong; grandchildren,Tabatha (Jeremy), Patrick (Krysten), Brittany, Heidi, Hunter, Jaxx, Jayce,Jesse, Hayley, Jesse, Jacob, Trisha, Levi, Cheyenne, Chelsea, Brooklyn, Jaiden,Joseph, Keirra (Maverick), Keelin, Kalysta, Joshlin (Shawn), and Cayla;great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jacob, Jessica, and Lydia; nephew, Eric Berryman;and favorite cousins, Judy Voland, Richard Cromas, and Brenda McNutt.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 2,2017 at 2:00 PM at the Church of God of Prophecy, 906 North 10thStreet, Gas City. Pastor David Morse will preside with Richard Cromas. A dinner will be held at the church following the service.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Community Hospital Anderson ICU for their kind and excellent care of Sonny.
