Charles William (Bill) Yates, 77, of Danville, IN, formerly Corydon, IN passed away on August 13, 2020. Bill was born on October 31, 1942 in Louisville, KY to the late Charles and Annie Yates. He was a Korean War Veteran, who served in the U.S. Army. Bill was a retired Boilermaker.
He was a member of (Pisgah 32) Masonic Lodge Corydon, IN. He was a lifetime member of the (NRA).
Bill loved to hunt, fish, and tinker around on many different projects to include shooting many style guns and rifles, loading his own ammo. He enjoyed working with and making things from leather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, mentioned above; sister, Martha Noble; nephew, Charles Yates; brother, Robert Lee and sister in law Joann Yates; and a step son, Greg Trostle.
Bill is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barbara Yates; sister, Linda (Dennis) Spencer; children, Jesse (Pennie) Yates; and (2) step children, Ronnie (Robin) Trostle and Marcia (Mike) Gregg; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be private. Bill’s final resting place will be at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. Arrangements provided by Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services – Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration.
