Chloris Taylor, affectionately known as “Peppy”, was born Chloris Eiland on February 18, 1972, in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Beverly Eiland.
Peppy came to know the Lord and dedicated her life to Him at an early age. Peppy served Him faithfully for many years. Peppy and her mother moved to Chicago, IL in the 1980’s when she was just a young girl. Peppy attended and graduated from Jones Commercial High School, and later went on to Vincennes University in Indiana to become a phlebotomist.
Peppy loved to decorate and always kept a beautiful home. Peppy enjoyed dressing up in her favorite color “orange” and styling her hair. Peppy found love again and married Ashunti Taylor on January 12, 2012. Those 10 years together were happy ones. Peppy would always say he was her friend and confidant. Peppy adored her only child, Tihiyya “Star” and her two grandsons, and they adored her.
The Lord decided that Peppy’s time on Earth was complete on December 1, 2022, and peacefully called her home in her sleep.
Peppy is preceded in death by her father, Charles Eiland.
Peppy is survived by her husband, Ashunti Taylor; her mother, Beverly Brown; her daughter, Tihiyya “Star” Brown; her two grandsons, Creshaun Brown and Aiden Shimz; two brothers, Peter Brown and Richard Brown; two nieces, Promise Ann Brown and Skylar Raye Brown; and a host of cousins and wonderful friends.
