Christopher Allen King, a cherished soul and devoted family man, departed this life on August 30, 2024, at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on December 11, 1951, in Indianapolis, Chris lived a life rich with experience, dedication, and love.
For 40 years, Chris was a respected union worker for both Allison Transmission and Chrysler, where his craftsmanship and diligence earned him the admiration of his colleagues. He was a steadfast employee, embodying the values of hard work and integrity that he held dear. Alongside his passion for his career, Chris served his country honorably in the United States Army, displaying a commitment to service that went beyond a mere vocation.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Chris will remember him as a truly unique individual. Described affectionately as odd, quirky, and private, Chris had an undeniable spark that drew people in. He possessed an inquisitive mind and loved immersing himself in conversations about cars, government issues, coins, and nutrition. His passion and enthusiasm for these topics were infectious, leaving lasting impressions on those around him.
Above all, Chris was a kind, generous, and caring man. His faith as a devoted Jehovah’s Witness was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through every interaction with compassion and understanding. Chris valued relationships deeply and bestowed upon his loved ones an important lesson that resonates profoundly: TIME is PRICELESS. The memories he created with his family and friends will remain etched in their hearts, treasured and celebrated until they are reunited once more.
Chris is survived by his beloved companion, Cynthia King, and his children: Christopher King Jr., Paul Wines, Heather Davis, Katie Mccallaham, Randy Davis, and Mark Willis. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his 12 grandchildren, who will carry forward the memories and lessons imparted by their grandfather. His half-sister, Debra Chavez, will also keep close the cherished moments they shared.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Richard King; his mother, Rosemary Crosley; and his half-brother, John King; and grandson Zachary Wines. They now welcome him into their embrace, together as family once more.
Though he has left this world, the impact of Christopher Allen King's life will be felt for generations to come. The warmth of his spirit, the depth of his kindness, and the joy he spread will forever be woven into the fabric of those he loved. We hold you close in our hearts, dear Chris. You will be missed, but your memory will shine brightly as a guiding light in our lives. We love you so much. ❤️
