CLARENCE R. FIELDS

94, left us March30th. He was born on November 24, 1921 to Davis Lafayette Fields and Millie Jane Lewis in Crossville, Tennessee. He was a Purple Heart WWII veteran serving in Italy. He met his wife of 67 years, Rose (preceding his in death), at Camp Atterbury, then settling in Lawrence, Indiana.

Clarence went to GMC Diesel mechanic school on the GI bill and worked at Flesh-Miller in Lawrence for 13 years. He continued his career at Fort Benjamin Harrison as an equipment inspector. After retiring he enjoyed gardening and painting. He also had a lawn mower blade and chain saw sharpening business. He was a good friend to all and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Clarence is survived by: daughters, Bonnie (Steve) and Beth (Jim); granddaughter, Angie(J.R.); great granddaughter, Ashley; and great-great granddaughter, Mayvis Rose.

There will be visitation from 1pm to 2:30pm, Monday, April 4, 2016 at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services , 5215 N. Shadeland Avenue,followed by a grave side service and interment at Washington Park North Cemetery, 2702 Kessler Blvd. Indianapolis, Indiana.
