Clell Eugene "Gene" Groover

Clell Eugene “Gene” Groover, age 78, of Anderson, passed away at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis on November 24, 2020. He was born on January 27, 1942 to the late Jesse and Violet (Morris) Groover.

Gene worked for Eby Brown for over 30 years. He was an extremely hard worker and loved to take care of his family. He always made sure that everyone he loved was taken care of. He acquired many hobbies over the years, some being going to the casino with his wife to eat dinner, watching shows like Walker Texas Ranger, Yogi, and Sanford and Sons, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was known around town as the “junk man,” always collecting, wheeling, and dealing anything he could. He was known to always have tons of lawnmowers, fixing them up and selling them. He attended auctions frequently, always wanting to find the best deal. Gene is going to be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jeanette (Holt) Groover; children Alisha Patterson (Chris), Chelsey Dillard (Joshua), Joey Turner (Rosalie), John Turner (Kaethe), and Jeanette Floyd (Chris); grandchildren Benny, Shayla, Lucy Jo, Gavin, Jakob, Jacey, Jaitlyn, Abigail, Tanner, Skyler, Lincoln Grace, Dawson, Bennie, Josie, Grayson, James, Gracey, and Elias; sisters Diane, Linda, and Sharron; many special friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 10am-11am with a funeral service beginning at 11am at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson.
