Born Clifton Rochester Williams, on August 23, 1926, to Arthur and Bessie (Thomas) Williams in Halifax County, Weldon, North Carolina. The only brother to older sister Edna Beatrice Williams and younger twin sisters Mattie (Everett) Williams and Hattie (Evans) Williams, all who have preceded him Home.
Growing up in a Christian home he became member of First Baptist Church of Weldon and went on later in life to become member of the Deacon Board and other positions in the church.
At the young age of 19, Clifton joined the U.S. Army during the end of World War II and briefly served overseas in Germany. After the military he attended college for electrical drawing and eventually relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he met Ora Lee Jones, fell in love and later married in August of 1952. She also has preceded him Home but during their marriage, they had two children, Linda (Robinson) Williams and Chester Roger Williams.
Clifton started as a factory worker but later started his own business as an electrician contracting for Sears & Roebuck installing air conditioners and doing electrical wiring in private homes. As he grew older and his health became an issue, he relocated to Indianapolis to live with his daughter and her family.
Clifton is survived by his children, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two nieces, three nephews and a host of family members and friends that he has met and have enjoyed his company along the way.
