Dale Delbert Dyer, 81, went to Heaven during the evening of January 6 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH.
Dale was born on August 5, 1938, in Flint, Michigan to Upton and Margaret Dyer. Dale and Roberta (Edson) Dyer were married at West Court Street Church of God (Flint, MI), worshiped at South Meridian Church of God (Anderson, IN) during their courtship, Linden Lane Church of God (Chesterfield, IN) while raising their young family, and then East Side Church of God (Anderson, IN) for over 30 years.
He enjoyed being out in nature (arrow-head hunting), listening to barbershop quartets, Nat King Cole, and the music of Damaris Carbaugh. He was very proud of the fruits of his labor; whether it was from his garden, raising rabbits or fish, or caring for his orchids. He also volunteered for Operation Love Ministries (Anderson) and Man4Man, provides transitional support for recently released inmates to reintegrate back into society.
Dale would attest that his greatest contribution was having a family. There wasn’t anything better, in his mind than family.
He is survived by his children, Carol Dyer, Colleen Lyons (Lou), James Dyer (Sang-Eun), Cayla Dyer (Laura) and Joan Williams (Tim); grandchildren, Lauren Markitanova (Demitri,) Lydia Lyons, Sydney Lyons, Iris Dyer, Isaac Dyer; and Anais Dyer; and great-grandchildren, Thaddeus Markitanov and Phineus Markitanov.
Preceding Dale in death are his parents, wife, Roberta, and infant daughter, Sarah Lou.
