Darwin M. Tolle

Darwin M. Tolle, age 76, of Greenfield IN, passed away on Thursday June 4, 2020 after his battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. He was the son to the late Maurice and Aline Tolle from Windfall, IN.

Darwin graduated from Windfall High in 1962. He then attended Indianapolis Barber College and then served in the United States Army as a medical specialist for 3 years during the Vietnam War in the 42nd Field Hospital. Darwin was a member of Greenfield Masonic Lodge and was a Past Monarch of Sahara Grotto. Darwin was also a member of the American Legion. Darwin retired from Warren Central Grounds Maintenance.

Darwin loved spending his time outdoors gardening and maintaining his meticulous lawn. He loved to decorate for Christmas. He enjoyed traveling and socializing. Darwin never met a stranger and loved his family and friends. Darwin loved spending time with Phyllis and his boys, as well as his grandchildren. He and Phyllis could be caught dancing the night away at the many functions at the Sahara Grotto with friends or away at convention. Darwin was always there to lend a helping hand.

Darwin is survived by his wife Phyllis (Rousch) Tolle, sons Jeff (Amanda) Tolle, Jason (Kristin) Tolle, grandchildren Ian, Gavin, Andon, Boggan, Addison Tolle, brothers Darcel (Mary) Tolle, Harold (Linda) Tolle, Blaine (Beverly) Tolle, sisters Marlene (Gene) Alberson, Karen Sharp, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be entrusted in Legacy Funeral Services 5215 N. Shadeland Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46226 with burial services at Washington Park East Veterans Memorial, 10612 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. Date and time to be determined.
