Daryl W. Drake

Daryl W. Drake, affectionately known as “Unkie D”, passed away May 14^th, 2023, at 62 years of age.

He was born in Reno, Nevada to parents Clark and Oda Drake.

Daryl relocated to Indianapolis as a young man. He worked as a carpenter with his son for many years, establishing their own business Ground Up Restoration.

Daryl was a strong, hardworking man. His jokes and sense of humor could crack up the room, and he was so generous, he’d give you the shirt off his back. He had a soft spot for animals and loved many pets throughout his life. A very old-school gentleman, he enjoyed listening to classics like Elvis and George Straight, and rewatching old movies. Sports were always a passion for Daryl, he enjoyed watching football, basketball, and golf, and of course, cheering for the Colts. Though he was social and loved his friends, his top priority were always his children. He took being a devoted father and grandfather very seriously.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Daryl is survived by his children Brandon Davis, Corey (Kelsie) Drake, Dustin Drake, and Brayton Drake; grandchildren Jaden Davis, Charlie Drake, Aleia Williams, and Isaiah Drake; and former spouse Vikki Drake.

He is preceded in death by his son William Drake and daughter Alicia Drake; and his parents.
