David E. James

David E. James, age 57, passed away on March 9, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 29, 1964, to William and Linda (Haynes) James.

David was a graduate of Highland High School, class of 1982. He retired from the city working for the waste and water department. He also spent several years as a truck driver.

David loved to do many things, but his favorite thing was spending time with his grandson Cash. He enjoyed vacationing, fishing, and his cars. He was a stubborn man with a big heart. You couldn’t find a more loyal friend. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, son and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his wife of 35 years, Melanie (Huffman) James; daughter Heather Garner (Chris) and grandson Cash; son Levi James (Ashley Thompson); son Joshua James; brother Paul Scott James; Parents William and Linda James; several nieces and nephews; and best friend Gary Throgmorton.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 16, 2022, from 12-2pm with a funeral service beginning at 2pm at Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service – Anderson. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
